The largest global gathering of Indigenous Peoples opened this week, with the ?holding its 24th session from 21 April to 2 May.
The theme spotlights the implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which was adopted in 2007.
It?is an opportunity to hear the voices of Indigenous Peoples and address challenges to?the implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, including lack of recognition of Indigenous Peoples, political resistance,?economic interests, among other issues.
The forum is also hosting a high-level dialogue on the rights of Indigenous women and will discuss topics such as critical minerals and financing.
